NestShield Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MatiProtech Solutions ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with NestShield, our child safety application available on the Apple App Store ("the App"). We built NestShield on a simple principle: protecting your child should never require handing over their private communications to a company.

1. What Information We Collect

NestShield collects a minimal amount of information necessary to deliver push notification alerts to parents. Specifically, we collect:

  • Parent Email Address — Collected when you set up the App. Used solely to associate your account with your push notification alerts. We do not use this for marketing.
  • Device Push Notification Token — A unique identifier generated by Apple that allows us to deliver alerts to your phone. This token is stored securely on our servers and used only to send NestShield threat alerts.

We do NOT collect: the content of any messages analyzed by NestShield, your child's name, age, or any personal information, your child's contact list or communication history, location data, or browsing history or app usage data.

2. How Message Analysis Works

NestShield performs all message content analysis primarily on the device. When NestShield's AI engine evaluates a message for threat language, that analysis occurs locally using our built-in natural language processing model.

In cases where on-device analysis confidence is below a threshold requiring deeper review, the message content is encrypted using AES-256 and sent to MatiProtech Solutions' secure servers (hosted on Amazon Web Services) for cloud-based analysis. This data is never shared with any third-party AI service and is automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days.

Message content is never transmitted to third parties. If a threat is detected, only a brief alert notification (threat level and category — e.g., "HIGH: Grooming language detected") is sent to the parent's device. The actual message text is never included in the alert payload.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for one purpose only: to send you push notification alerts when NestShield detects a potential threat in your child's messages. We do not use your information for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the core safety function of the App.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Your parent email address and push notification token are stored on a secure server hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). All message content stored for analysis is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and automatically purged after 30 days. We use HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit.

5. Third-Party Services

NestShield uses the following third-party services:

  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — Used to deliver alert notifications to your iPhone. Apple's privacy policy applies.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — Used to deliver alert notifications to Android devices. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Used to host our notification backend. AWS's privacy policy applies.

We do not share your information with any other third parties. We do not sell your data. Ever.

6. Children's Privacy

NestShield is a tool for parents. The App is intended to be used by adults (parents or legal guardians) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The child's device runs only a system-level message filtering extension — no account, no login, and no data collection occurs on the child's side.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information, and withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the App. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@matiprotechsolutions.com.

8. Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. To submit a deletion request, email us at privacy@matiprotechsolutions.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your NestShield account.

Upon receiving your request, we will permanently delete the following within 30 days:

  • Your parent account (email address and hashed password)
  • All child device registrations linked to your account
  • All stored alert history and encrypted message content
  • Your push notification token (APNs / FCM)
  • All heartbeat and audit log records associated with your account

Note: Alert data that has already been automatically purged under our 30-day retention policy will have been deleted prior to your request. The NestShield app installed on your child's device will remain installed but will be unlinked from your account — it will prompt for re-registration on next launch.

You may also request deletion directly within the app by tapping "Not your account?" on the monitoring screen, which immediately clears all locally stored credentials from the device.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
